Dear Jane, Bonnie, Greg, Beth and Donald,
How shocked we are to hear of David's death. Our families, especially our parents, were very close and the connection goes back to Lancaster when our mother's were in school there. We know it is difficult to lose a sibling and your youngest. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers as you support one another and cope with losing David.

I knew Dave for a comparatively short time but he made a lasting Impression on me. He was a genuinely caring and decent human being, and I can't conceive of a better testament to one's life than that. My most sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Dave..............Thanks for all the GREAT MEMORIES. The cook-outs at the house on Mingo Street, the trips to the fairs and race tracks, the DMSO liniment that Jeremy put to his lips at the fairgrounds, and most of all training and taking care of SUN DEL KID!!

Will miss David very much... I knew him from a very young age as he and his family lived across the street from my grandmother in Circleville. That connection ---as well as that of his dad Neil standing (in the very same spot night after night) on the concrete apron next to the grandstand at Scioto Downs--- were my initial memories of David and his family... and his connection to harness racing. I remember the first time he (and his brother Ned) climbed onto a jog cart to jog one of my brother Bryan's horses. I guess it took off from there.
I have wonderful memories of Dave. He was soft-spoken, friendly, always quick with a laugh & smile. My sincere condolences to the Abbott family.
