David Andrew Holtom's Obituary
David Andrew Holtom of Eustis, Florida, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at the age of 71. Born in Colorado Springs, Colorado, David’s life was marked by love, dedication, and a passion for his many interests.
David met the love of his life, Heidi, and they shared 36 wonderful years together before her passing in 2016. In 2000, David moved to Eustis from Columbus, Ohio, where he established and ran his own construction business, David Holtom, LLC. With over 50 years of experience in the construction industry, David was a respected and skilled professional.
A devoted community member, David served as the Assistant Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 250 in Eustis. He took great pride in his scouting activities, especially enjoying the camping trips and time spent with the troop. David was also a certified scuba diver, an avid music lover who enjoyed attending concerts, and a passionate fisherman. He cherished doing puzzles with his grandchildren and was an enthusiastic reader.
David was a loyal fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns, always cheering on his favorite teams. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Heidi Holtom, on April 6, 2016.
David is survived by his daughter, Kelly (Joshua) Stroud of Columbus, Ohio; his son, David A. Holtom, Jr. of Eustis; his grandchildren, Taya Haile, Jordyn Stroud, and Joshua Thomas Stroud, Jr.; his sisters, Beth Parsons of Johnstown, Ohio, and Linda (Mark) Bryant of Utica, Ohio; his brother, Andy (Michele) Holtom of Hebron, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
David’s legacy of love, dedication, and passion will be remembered by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
A memorial ceremony will be held on Saturday, October 26 at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Family and friends are welcome to gather 30 minutes prior to service time.
