David William Carlson's Obituary
David William Carlson, Sr. passed away peacefully at his home in Eustis, FL on May 15, 2020 at the age of 90. David was born in Rockledge, PA on October 7, 1929 to the late David and Mabel Carlson. He married the love of his life Joyce M. Burke on April 28, 1951. David leaves behind his wife of 69 years: Joyce (Burke) Carlson; two daughters: Sharon Ann Carlson and Donna (Stephen) Cummings; his two sons: David William (Dorcas) Carlson, Jr. and Dana Thomas Carlson who acts as his parent’s caregiver. He leaves five grandchildren: Erin, Christine, David III, Karra and Jett; and Seven great-grandchildren: Arianna, Jamie, Noah, Autumn-Lynn, Drew, Logan, and Will.
David served in the Korean War from 1950 to 1953 serving in the Army Security Agency as a Sargent.
David obtained his B.S & Masters degree from the University of Connecticut. He worked as a teacher, principal and assistant superintendent for over 36 years, retiring some years ago from the Ware, MA school system.
No services have been scheduled at this time and burial will take place at a later date.
