I met Darlene Andersen in the mid-1980s when I attended college with her son, Mark. She was always warm and gracious and had a lovely smile. She clearly loved her husband and her children, and she was devoted to animals, as evidenced by her sleek and happy Great Danes.
Though I did not know Darlene as well as some of the people posting here, her son has been my lifelong friend. He and his wife Ann Marie are two of the kindest, most thoughtful people I know, and Mark's goodness is a reflection of his mother's care and nurturing.
I'd like to extend my condolences to the entire Andersen family. Darlene's beautiful soul is free of earthly bonds, but I will pray for everyone who feels the great pain of losing her physical presence.
