Christine Burns' Obituary
Christine Burns
June 30, 1941 – July 27, 2025
Christine Burns of Eustis, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the age of 84. Born in Pikeville, Kentucky, on June 30, 1941, to Orville and Emogene Baldridge, Christine lived a life marked by creativity, faith, and quiet strength.
She made Florida her home in 1976, where she built a life filled with love, art, and family. Christine was a devout Christian, raised in the Old Regular Baptist tradition. Though she later embraced a non-denominational path, the teachings of her youth remained deeply rooted in her heart and guided her throughout her life.
Christine was a gifted, mostly self-taught artist who worked primarily in acrylics. Her eclectic style ranged from serene landscapes and oceanscapes to expressive portraits and ethereal, spiritual themes. She found great joy in walking along the beach, collecting seashells, and drawing inspiration from the natural world around her.
Professionally, Christine worked as a retail manager at Casual Corner and later at Renninger’s, where she was known for her dedication and warm presence.
On October 16, 2000, she married Robert Burns in Eustis, Florida. Their union was one of companionship and mutual respect, and Robert survives her.
Christine was preceded in death by her siblings Orville Baldridge Jr., Daniel Baldridge, and Stephen Baldridge. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Burns; her children, Randall (Christine) Kiefner, Lisa (Daniel Jr.) Ritchie, and Amanda (Roger) Johnson; her sister, Thelma Edgerton; her grandchildren, Daniel Ritchie III, Alexis Johnson, Justin Kiefner, Cierra Kiefner, and Rylee Johnson; and her great-grandchildren, Cole and Kennedy Johnson, and Daniel IV and Madelyn Ritchie.
She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, with whom she shared close and meaningful relationships—some of whom were by her side in her final hours. Their love and presence were a great comfort to her and a testament to the deep bonds she nurtured throughout her life.
The family will be having a graveside service on Saturday September 20, 2025 at 10 AM at Lakeside Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA), in honor of Christine’s memory and her courageous spirit.
