Cheryl Rae Kennedy's Obituary
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved mother Cheryl Kennedy, 79, of Leesburg, Fl., on July 6, 2024. She died peacefully at home, surrounded by love.
Born on January 11,1945 in Portland, Maine, the youngest of 8 children. She was proceeded in death by her husband Philip L. Kennedy Sr., her parents Paul and Mae Boyington, her brothers Paul Boyington, Richard Boyington, Sterling Boyington and sisters Doris Fulton, Theola Spear and Mary Cerino.
She is survived by her loving sister Shirley Stowell of N. Yarmouth, Maine and her devoted children Melissa A. Kennedy of Leesburg, Fl., Philip L. Kennedy Jr. and his wife Melanie Kennedy of Durham, Maine, Micheal P. Kennedy of Leesburg, Fl., and Tamera E. Kennedy of Leesburg, FL.
She will be missed by her 16 grandchildren; James, Joseph, Nikia, Rocco Jr, Morgan, Amanda, Cris, Cara, Savannah, Amber, Ivy, Annelise, Maddie, Samantha, Emelee, Alexandria and 19 great grandchildren. She will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends far and near.
She was a woman of strength, spirit, a strong-will and had an endless abundance of love. She was affectionately called “Super Cheryl “and “The Tiny Tank” by her family after battling stage 4 Ovarian Cancer for over 3 years with dignity, strength, even continuing to work as a pharmacy technician.
She grew up with a passion for playing baseball, indoor/outdoor games, fast cars, Powder-Puff derby, swimming, horses, spending time with family and friends. She loved music and dancing, especially to Elvis. She believed in God’s love for her and that she was going home to be with Jesus and those loved ones that had gone on before her.
Although we are all heartbroken by her passing, we know we were blessed to know her, be loved by her, to love her and to know each and everyone of us was part of her extraordinary journey.
A viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday July 13, 2024 from 11 AM- 1 PM at Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Directors. A reception will be held at 4 PM at the Church at Whistling Pines. The family will be doing a private burial at a later date.

Parking for Hamlin & Hilbish will be in the parking lot next to Lake Eustis Christian Church. There will be cones, a sign, and possible police assistance with crossing. If you need to park closer there is parking in the back as well as under the car port for people who need assistance with access to a ramp in the back.
