CDR. Charlie R. Jones U.S. Navy (Ret.)'s Obituary
Commander Charlie R. Jones U.S.N. (Ret.) 98, of Eustis, passed away on February 13, 2017. He was born in Dayton, Ohio and came to Eustis in 1964. He served his country in the United States Navy for 28 years and was a Veteran of WWII. Beginning as a loan officer in 1964, Charlie retired as President and C.E.O. of First Family Federal Savings and Loan Association of Eustis in 1982. He was a devoted family man and will be dearly missed by two sons; Charlie R. Jones and his wife Skipper of Honolulu, Hawaii and Edward R. “Buddy” Jones and his wife Angela of Eustis, his daughter in law Lynn Jones of Spring, Texas, sister; Verna Jones Hasselmann of Roanoke, Virginia, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Janibelle L. Jones in 1990 and his son Theodore “Ted” Jones in 1998. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church of Eustis at 10 AM on Tuesday, February 21st, interment with Navy Honors will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Eustis.
