Charles Allen Horst's Obituary
Charles Allen Horst of Eustis, Florida passed away on Monday May 27, 2024, at the age of 83. He was born to his parents Abraham and Margaret Horst in Wooster, Ohio on May 24, 1941. He moved from Ohio in 1955, where he spent the remainder of his years here in Florida. He was a member of the United States National Guard, and retired in 2004 from working as a computer programmer. His hobbies included scuba diving, sky diving, tennis, sailing, water skiing, and cave exploring.
Charles is survived by his son Chris Horst; Longtime companion Gloria Wambles; nieces and nephews Dennis (Karen Robinson) Horst, Debbie (Earl) Allen Horst, Jackie Butzer, John Butzer, Tom Butzer, and Jody Butzer; great nieces and nephews Alicia (Chris) Wethington, and Katie (Gary) Huff, along with many other family and friends.
A viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday May 31, 2024 from 10 AM - 11 AM at Hamlin & Hilbish, with the service happening at 11 AM. Following the services you are welcome to join the family at the graveside in Lakeside Memory Gardens.
Parking for Hamlin & Hilbish will be in the parking lot next to Lake Eustis Christian Church. There will be cones, a sign, and possible police assistance with crossing.
