Charles Frederick Gilmore's Obituary
Charles Frederick “Fred” Gilmore passed away Saturday, September 28, in Mount Dora, Florida. Son of Loren and Cleta Gilmore, Fred was born on December 15, 1940, in Eustis, Florida. He graduated from Eustis High School and attended the University of Florida.
He then joined the U.S. Navy, where he served as Missile Technician on the U.S.S. Lewis and Clark Nuclear Submarine. He later became a communications engineer with Tellabs, Inc., where he retired after more than 25 years.
Fred is preceded in death by his loving wife of 32 years, Sue. He is survived by his wife Hazanean of Leesburg, Florida, his daughter Jamie G. Armitage (Skip) of Leesburg, Florida, daughter Jennifer L. Gilmore of St. Petersburg, Florida, granddaughter Hanna Collins (Derek) of Leesburg, Florida, grandson Jakob Armitage of Leesburg, Florida, and his sister Carolyn Marcus of Mount Dora, Florida.
Fred was a beloved father, grandfather and husband. He had a terrific sense of humor and loved hunting, fishing and cheering on his favorite Gators. He will be greatly missed.
