Charles "Chuck" R. Huffman's Obituary
Charles R. “Chuck” Huffman passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at his home in Umatilla, Florida. He was born in Akron, Indiana to Cecil Huffman and Orma "Kien" Huffman. Chuck worked for Delco Electronics, a division of General Motors, as an Engineer for 40 years before retiring. He also operated an injection molded fishing bait company called Super Spawn for over 20 years while working for GM. He and his wife, Vera, spent the winters in a travel trailer at the KOA Campground for 9 years until they built their house in Umatilla and moved permanently in 2004 from Roann, Indiana. He loved to play Golf and thoroughly enjoyed fishing. He golfed or fished every day until the local Golf course closed and he was unable to fish due to his health. He shot 119 hole-in-ones and was the golf pro at Twin Lakes Estates. His family was most important, and he loved to spend time with his sons. He also was a cat lover and enjoyed the company of his feline friends. Chuck was an inventor at heart. One of his favorite things was to make golf club Canes. He was a member and former Elder at Lake Eustis Christian Church. Chuck and Vera were also professional clowns known as Gus and Gertie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera after 70 years of marriage in September of 2019. Charles is remembered and will be dearly missed by his sons, Charles Kim (Janet) Huffman of Westport, Indiana and Cameron Huffman of Umatilla; brother, Jim (Connie) Huffman of Roann, Indiana; grandchildren, Joy, Keith, Trina, Ben, Trisha and Trevva and great grandchildren, Trevor, Vera Mae and Evelyn.

A Celebration of life memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 1:00PM at Lake Eustis Christian Church.
