Charles L. Bird's Obituary
Charles L. Bird, 63, Eustis, Fla. passed away June 14, 2019, with his wife, Karen, and his son, Caleb, at his side.
Charlie was born Dec. 31, 1955, in Spring Valley, Illinois. After 17 years working as a pipefitter in Illinois, Charlie moved to Florida and found his true calling in a second career as a Physical Therapist Assistant. His kindness and thoughtfulness endeared him to those he cared for and those he worked with, as well as his family and friends. "What can I do to help you?" was his constant refrain.
Charlie was a faithful believer in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His greatest joy was spending time with his family - enthusiastically supporting the Green Bay Packers, golfing, fishing, going to church, visiting friends, or simply enjoying a good pizza.
He will be profoundly missed and forever loved by his wife of 26 years, Karen, and his son, Caleb both of Eustis. He is also survived by his siblings, Marci (Fred) Nestler, Betsy (Neil) Nunamaker, Susan Ballerin, Chery (Scott) Young, Becky (Bud) Raineri, Michele (John) Fagan, and Jeff (Rose) Bird, his parents-in-law, Charles and Joyce Butler; and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Sandra Bird; a brother, Robert Bird; a sister, Vicky Bird; maternal and paternal grandparents, and one niece.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 17, with refreshments to follow, at Evangelical Covenant Church, 24 N. Main Street, Princeton, Illinois.
