Carolyn Shears' Obituary
Carolyn G. Shears of Leesburg, Florida passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018 at the age of 83 years. She was born in Brockton, Massachusetts. She moved to this area in 1996 from Killingly, Connecticut. Carolyn was an active member of the St. Andrew Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church in Eustis, where she was a member of the choir. She was also the former secretary of the church and was past President at the church of the local chapter of AONA-Antiochian Orthodox Christian Women of North America.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her grandson Shawn Duffany. She is remembered and will be dearly missed by her husband of nearly 62 years, John R. Shears; children, Jeanne Duffany and her husband Alan, Victoria Shears, May Jalbert and her husband Leon, Michael Shears, and Billie Shears and her husband Kenneth Bernhard Jr.; brother and sister-in-law, William and Lynn Jacques; grandchildren, Jennifer Bouchard, Rebecca Shears, Ryan Bouchard, Megan Bouchard as well as great grandchildren, Elizabeth Rivera and Lilly Serbeck.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, May 1 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. A Vesper Ceremony will start at 6:30 pm.
The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 2 at 10:00 am at the St. Andrew Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church in Eustis. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memory Gardens in Eustis.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carolyn’s honor to the St. Andrew Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church.
