Carolyn Ann Perkins' Obituary
Carolyn Ann Perkins, 72 years, passed on Sunday, March 5, 2023 in Mount Dora, Florida. Carolyn was born February 27, 1951, at Fort Knox in Louisville, Kentucky, to Major Frank A. and Elizabeth Burri Perkins.
Carolyn, moved many places, including Japan and Germany, as the oldest child in a military family. After her father’s retirement, she grew up in an active family of eight on Lake Estelle in Orlando, Florida.
She was raised in the Catholic faith, married, settled in Winter Park, raised a daughter, and ran several businesses. Carolyn loved mystery reads, garden work, a great movie, chocolate cake, all animals, but especially her dog, Boulee. She lived her last years in Mount Dora amongst the support of family members.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her loving parents, Elizabeth (Betty) and Frank, also known as Mimi and Poppie.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Renee Davis of Lake Mary, Florida; her five siblings and many nieces and nephews: Frank Perkins of Brandon, Mississippi (wife Frances, and children Conner Frechette, Blake Perkins, and Austin Perkins); Janet Hall of Alexandria, Virginia (husband Stephen, and children Lauren Keene and Sarah Schexnayder), Nancy Maguire of Jacksonville, Florida (husband Mike, and children, Molly Thompson, Kelly Carr, and Maggie Miller); Susan Shaner of Orlando, Florida (husband Wes, and children Sydney Shaner and Kelsey Shaner); Sharon Crow of Mount Dora, Florida (husband David and son Robb Crow), and three great nieces, Hannah, Marnie, and Cora, and three great nephews, Spencer, Jake, and John Paul.
Condolences, memories, and photos are welcome and may be shared on the tribute wall.
A Celebration of Life to remember and celebrate Carolyn will be held at a future date in Mount Dora and Orlando.
