Carol Ann Ridout's Obituary
Carol Ann Ridout of Eustis, Florida, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the age of 84.
Carol was born in Dennison, Ohio, where she spent her childhood exploring books, colors, and crafts. As a young lady, she met James Robert “Jim” Ridout, and the two quickly fell in love. They were married on December 1, 1962, and would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary later this year.
Followed by a brief stay in Deland, she lived in Fort Lauderdale for many years. Carol and Jim moved to Eustis in 1987. She became an integral part of the local community, balancing her role as a dedicated homemaker with her position at the neighborhood Walgreens, where she served customers with warmth and efficiency for many years.
Carol was an avid reader. She loved to cook and had a gift for bringing people together, frequently hosting gatherings for family and friends. Her artistic spirit shone through in her colorful paintings, hand-crafted décor, and intricate crafts.
Carol Ann was preceded in death by her son, Keith Ridout in 2024, and her siblings, Alan “Bunk” Deems, Linda Ketter, Lois Bickham, and Bert Deems. She is survived by her loving husband, Jim; her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Terry Ridout of Wilton Manors, Florida; her daughter, Lois Ridout of Eustis; and her cherished grandchildren, Dana Ridout and James Ridout of Wilton Manors.
