Barbara Evans Slate's Obituary
Barbara Lou Evans Slate 88, of Tavares, passed away on September 19, 2016. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, received degrees from Barry College and University of Miami. She and her family moved to this area in the 1970's from Boynton Beach, Florida. She was a piano instructor and a member of the Church at Whistling Pines of Umatilla. Barbara is survived by loving husband of 69 years, Dr. Donald Slate. She will be dearly missed by her children: Stephen (Janice) Slate of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Cynthia (Robert) Bidinotto-Slate of Grasonville, Maryland, Candace (Ray) Hardisky-Slate of Stuart, Florida, Shelley (Steve) Harty of Orange City, Florida, Michael (Jan) Slate of Germantown, Tennessee, and Peter (Melissa) Slate of Sorrento, Florida. Her life was blessed by 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Saturday, September 24th at 1:00 PM in The Church at Whistling Pines in Umatilla, Florida.
