Barbara Ann Baylis' Obituary
Barbara Ann Baylis of Kingsland, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the age of 50 years. She was born in Landstuhl, Germany, as her dad served in the US Army. In 1985 she married Robert A. Baylis. Robert joined the Navy in 1987. Barb spent her adult life as a Navy wife and mother, relocating often and raising her family. She was living in Georgia last but Lake County Florida was her home. Barb had a kind heart, always putting the interests of others over her own, sometimes excessively. She loved her family, spending time with them and helping in any way possible. She was very proud of her children. Barb was an animal lover. She enjoyed cruises. Barbara also liked to color. However, more than anything, she adored spending time with her grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as “Oma.” She was preceded in death by her father, David Merle Collins in 2015 and her grandson, Andrew Lloyd in 2005. She is remembered and will be dearly missed by her husband, Robert; mother, Patricia Collins of Orlando and Wilmington, NC; son; Josh Baylis and his wife, Kalyn of Virginia Beach, VA; daughters, Glenda Murline Buchanan and her husband, Richard of Kingsland and Patricia Jolene Collins of Orlando; brother, David Merle Collins and his wife, Stephanie of Orlando; sister, Carol Lynn James of Wilmington; half-sister, Rainey Elizabeth Losee of Port Charlotte, FL; grandchildren, Shelby Nicole Buchanan, Addison Marie Buchanan and Noah Skyler Baylis; and her two dogs, Duke and Daisy. A funeral ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 23 at 11:00 am. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior. Her final resting place will be Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Ronald McDonald House, 824 Childrens Way, Jacksonville, FL 32207; www.rmhcjacksonville.org Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
