Audrey H. Corriston's Obituary
Audrey Reid Corriston, 87, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed peacefully with family at her side on August 3rd after a long illness and a life well-lived. She was a beautiful person, accomplished and loving; an optimist with a sparkle in her eye, and a smile and kind word for everyone she met. Audrey truly enjoyed every minute of her life and to know her was to love her. She will be missed so much.
Audrey grew up in Kearny, NJ. After high school, she worked for several years as an office supervisor, leaving to be a dedicated wife and mother when she married her handsome high school sweetheart, the late Edward Corriston, Jr. after his return from the Navy in WWII. They raised three children in Bloomfield and Morris Plains, NJ. In 1968 the family moved to Germany and France to work and travel for several years before returning to Pompano Beach, FL. where she was active in her church organization and cared for her wonderful parents, the late Jack and Hazel Ross Reid. Audrey and Ed moved to Boynton Beach, FL and Audrey later moved to Eustis, FL with her daughter and son-in-law and to be nearer to her grandchildren of whom she was very proud. The most precious time was spent with family, especially the grandchildren, as Nana and Pop, and they felt fortunate to have so many life-long friends.
Audrey was predeceased by her loving husband, Edward and son, Mark. She is survived by her children, Douglas and Bonnie Corriston of Newton, NJ, Elizabeth and James Hamilton of Eustis, FL, grandchildren, Jonathan Hamilton of Orlando, FL, James and Teresa Hamilton of Ft. Meade, MD, her brother, Gene and Claire Reid of Deland, FL, and beloved grand-dog, Maggie Mae, who was her constant companion.
A family memorial service will be held in Pompano Beach at a later date.
