Anthony J. Stedrak's Obituary
Anthony Joseph Stedrak of Grand Island, age 100 years, passed away on July 13, 2021. He was a member of St. Mary of the Lakes Church in Eustis. He was born January 17,1921 in East Vandergrift, PA. Tony proudly served in the United States Coast Guard in World War ll. A military honor guard will present honors at his service in Florida. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, PA. Tony had a successful career as group merchandise manager at Sears, Roebuck and Co. working in Camden, NJ and Abington, PA. After retirement he enjoyed working in his orange grove in Florida. He enjoyed socializing with others and loved to talk and hear about his great-granddaughter, Sophia. Tony had a positive attitude and was an upbeat guy. He was thrilled when his friends in Grand Island surprised him with a parade on his 100th birthday. In addition to his parents, John and Mary, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Mary Jo (Vargo) Stedrak, who passed away May 3, 2010, his brothers and sisters Olga, John, Carl, Mary, Paul, Conrad, Martha, and Joey. Tony is survived by his daughters Jeanne Marie Stedrak and Joan Elizabeth Stedrak, grandson Sean (Samantha) Moore, great-granddaughter Sophia, an extended family of nieces and nephews, and many friends.
There will be a funeral mass on Monday, July 19th at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, Eustis, FL at 10:00 AM
Memorial contributions may be made in Tony's memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
