Anna White, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025, at the age of 73.
Born on April 15, 1952, Anna moved to Florida in 1976 with her three young children, beginning a new chapter filled with love, adventure, and family. Shortly after settling in Florida, she met Paul E. Gilliam, who became a devoted father to her children and her cherished husband until his passing in 1999. Their bond was one of deep affection and shared joy, especially during their time spent exploring the Ocala National Forest.
In 2000, Anna found love again and married James Chris White, who remained her loving husband until her passing. Together, they built a life filled with warmth and companionship.
Anna dedicated many years to Walt Disney World, working there from 1987 until 2000. After marrying Chris, she pursued a new path, earning her real estate license and briefly working as a real estate agent before retiring.
She is survived by her husband, Chris White; her children, Surena Cartin (George Cartin Jr.), Dallas Shafer Jr. (Beverly Shafer), and Kieth Shafer (Tanya Shafer); her grandchildren, Patience Rosa, Gracie Bleu Shafer, and Brock Cartin; and her sister, Terry Painter. Anna was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul E. Gilliam.
Anna had a deep love for animals and the outdoors. She found joy in horseback riding, camping with her children, beach outings, and long scenic drives through the Ocala National Forest—especially with Paul by her side.
In accordance with her wishes, no formal service will be held. Her ashes will be lovingly placed alongside Paul’s and spread in the Ocala National Forest, a place that held countless cherished memories for her and her family.
Anna’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
