Alice Marie Blackburn Ayers, 79, of Howey-in-the-Hills, FL, passed away October 7, 2014. She was born in Maryville, TN, daughter of the late Roy and Alice Blackburn. In 1968 she moved to Lake County from Mountain City, TN. She was Read Obituary

Alice and I were friends for 70 years and one of the best friends I ever had.
We met when we lived next door to each other on Cherry Drive, Maryville, TN.
I cannot share all the wonderful memories we had together but I can cherish them in my heart. She was such a caring person, full of love and kindness. We claimed her as one of our family. My daughter, Ann Marie is her namesake and she cherishes that. My heart and prayers go to David and family. How I wish I could be there.

My mom sang with Alice in the Presbyterian choir for many years. We recently saw the Ayres at my Dad's service. My mom, Dorothy Pickens, my husband, Mike and I would like to extend our condolences to the family.
