Anyone who ever visited Alex's apartment in Manhattan will have been charmed by the electric train that ran on a ledge about two feet above your head all around the perimeter of the adjoining rooms, "tunneling" through the wall on either side of the arch. This was one of the endearing, childlike creations acts that characterized Alex. Rufus Hallmark, parishioner at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Brooklyn, 1979-2022.
