Albert Edward Spencer's Obituary
Albert Edward Spencer 86, of Tavares, passed away on November 28, 2014. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and moved here in 1986. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and graduated from Drexel University of Philadelphia with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He continued his studies taking many graduate level courses. While working at Bell Laboratories he worked on many advanced communication systems for private and military use. He was appointed Executive Director with responsibility for planning all AT&T switching systems. He was an active Episcopalian having served as an usher, Lay Reader, Vestryman, Treasurer and Warden. Albert was currently a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church of Eustis. He volunteered as a AARP Tax-Aide and an Angle Flight Pilot. Albert is survived by his wife Edna; they were married for 46 years. Also surviving are his children; Felicia Lynn (Ted) Sartell of Temple, New Hampshire, Craig Robert (Ann Marie) Spencer of Oceanport, New Jersey and David Andrew (Debra) Spencer of Brielle, New Jersey and six grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held in St. Thomas Episcopal Church of Eustis at 1 PM Wednesday, Dec. 3rd, with Rev. John W. Lipscomb III officiating. The final resting place will be St. Thomas Columbarium.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
