Albert William Gleichauf's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Albert William Gleichauf of Grand Island, Florida, on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Albert was born in Rochester, New York, to his parents, George and Marie Gleichauf.
As a young man, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy, a commitment that reflected his strength, discipline, and sense of duty. Following his service, he built a long and dedicated career as a quality assurance engineer at Eastman Kodak Company, where he was known for his integrity, precision, and strong work ethic.
Albert shared a beautiful 59-year marriage with the love of his life, Karen. Their bond was one of deep love and partnership, and together they created a life filled with family, laughter, and cherished memories.
In 2003, they made the move from Rochester, New York to Grand Island, Florida, where they continued to enjoy life side by side. He had a deep love for the outdoors, finding joy in fishing and hunting.
Some of the most treasured moments for his family were spent together during summers in the Thousand Islands, where his presence, stories, and quiet strength brought everyone together.
Albert will be lovingly remembered by his children: his son, Albert Gleichauf (Jill Werner) of Rochester; his daughter, Carol Love (Frank Vitello) of Rochester; his grandchildren, Ian Love (Viktoria), Albert Gleichauf (Alexandra), and Alexandra Osher (Zack); and his four great-grandchildren, Aleksandr, Luka, Olivia, and Ewan. He is also survived by his siblings, Leo Gleichauf, Marie Kessler, and Ann Jackson, as well as his very dear friends, Ray and Joanne Jansen, who held a special place in his life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen Gleichauf; his parents, George and Marie Gleichauf; and his brother, George Gleichauf.
Albert’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service for Albert will be held at a later time at "St Mary's of the Lake Church" in Ontario, NY with military honors.
