Remembering Agnes Phyllis Everett: A Life Lived in Love and Nature
Agnes Phyllis Everett passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025, at the remarkable age of 97. Born on December 29, 1927, in Guttenberg, Iowa, Agnes was the cherished daughter of Arthur and Emma Maker.
Agnes, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, leaves behind a legacy of love, family devotion, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the natural world. She possessed a spirit that thrived outdoors. Agnes had a passion for gardening, nurturing fruits, vegetables, vibrant flowers, and delicate orchids. Her green thumb extended beyond the garden as she also enjoyed camping and fishing, finding solace and joy in the tranquility of nature. Further showcasing her love for living things, she also dedicated time to breeding canaries, filling her home with their cheerful melodies.
After spending most of her life in Iowa, she and her husband, Francis, made the move to sunny Florida in 2003, seeking warmth and a change of pace. However, wherever Agnes resided, her priorities remained the same: her family. For Agnes, any day spent surrounded by her children was a day well spent.
While her passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew her, Agnes's memory will be cherished. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francis, and her grandson, David.
