Regina Delores (Jean) Lyle, 83, of Leesburg passed away on October 25, 2019. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 2, 1936 to Elizabeth (née Schultz) and William Lynch. She met the love of her life Kenneth Lyle in Brooklyn when they were twelve and thirteen They soon fell in love and got married when they were eighteen and nineteen and started their lives together living in various places as he was in the Navy. They spent the majority of their time in Virginia Beach, Virginia where Jean worked for the Federal Government as the Director of the Oceana Child Development Center where she then retired from. Jean loved children and she was the best storyteller in the entire world. She was known by her grandchildren and great grandchildren as “The Blue Fairy.” After they retired Jean and her husband moved to Holiday Island, North Carolina from Virginia Beach in 2002 for a few years before moving on to Leesburg. She was a member of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, V.F.W. 8087, AM Vets of Mount Dora, the Red Hats, and the Order of the Eagles. She will be deeply missed by Kenneth, her beloved husband of 65 years, as well as her children; Kenneth (Darcie) Lyle of Virginia Beach, Regina Koyle of Burley, Idaho, William Lyle of Leesburg, Laura (Steven) Thomas, and John Lyle all of Virginia Beach, her sister; Margaret Watts of Leesburg, thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. The family will greet friends in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel on Monday, November 4th from 4 until 6 PM. Wake Services will be held at 5:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church of Eustis at 10 AM Tuesday, November 5th.
