Rick Massey was to be very much a hard person to make mad ,But one weekend Rick and all us hunters were to meet at the Restaurant in Astor we sat down to eat a steak deptey Tome was there and we had a nice time chewing Tabaco and eating steak but the steaks were not ready . A man was to go and start to make some real bad comments and say all types of bad things Rick was to say ,please leave me alone the man was to proceeded and then he was to say something that was about Mary Jane Massey Tom was to say tell Rick you didn't mean that .The man was to start to say stuff that would curl your face up into a rotten egg .Rick was to get up and then say you met you match you can curse me and never my Mother or family but you crossed the line when you said that thing about my Mother .Tom was to get back and say you brought this on your self and Rick was to take that mighty fist and not swing but draw it back and hit full throttle and out the door the man went Rick was to say ,you go home you bum and remember you're alive . He was to return and then Tom was to go out side and say your a lucky son of a gun get out of here .I was their and Randy Myers was ,we all saw the side of Rick that was to make the law shutter ,because he was able to swing a fist and knock you out with one mighty swing. I was to ask Rick do you want a Cigar to smoke Sure Calvin. We all had steak and forgot about the man.
Tera,I was so sorry to hear about Ricks passing. I love you my friend and know that you are in my prayers. I wanted to be at the service, but with the covid19 I was afraid to be out in a group of people. I am 77 now and have been staying home, except for going to the grocery store when I needed to,because since Sandi passed, I now have two dogs to take care of and they keep me busy. If there is anything I can do for you, I will try,if you let me know. If you ever just need to talk, I am here for you. Again, just call if I can help you get through this. I still miss all the good times we had at Harry Anna, Miss Blanche and Evelyn and don't know where Patty went. they were and miss the kids too. GONNA SAY GOODNIGHT NOW, I LOVE YOU. I went to school with Rick, and I will miss his smile and kind heart. As the years have passed I would see him every now and then, and he was still a good friend. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Becky Foster Gullion

I have fond memories of Rick as a little boy at our grandparents Me-Me and Hank in Dade City on Christmas Eve..
