I didn't learn of the death of Joyce until Saturday morning, July 25th. I wish that I had known earlier so that I could have attended the service. Joyce & I worked together at Eustis High before I retired in 2002. My love, thoughts and prayers are with Gary, Chris and Jo. I met Joyce at Umatilla High School in the 1960's and was her maid of honor when she got married. We had some GREAT times together (some I couldn't mention on here!). Joyce and I met when we worked together at Eustis Middle. I continued to have an opportunity to work with her through all these years. She was kind and caring and such a professional! Gary and ChrisI had the opportunity to know Joyce for a short time, however she touched my life deeply. Joyce and I worked together at EHS, and shared something in that we were both battling breast cancer. I was diagnosed in 2006 and we shared doctors and strength. We always encouraged each other and continued to keep each other strong. Joyce will continue to be my hero as well as my inspiration! I have nothing but wonderful memories of Aunt Joyce. When I would visit growing up from Jacksonville Aunt Joyce and Uncle Gary were nothing but fun always. Aunt Joyce was like a movie star in my mind she was alway such a proper lady I wanted to be like her. Very soft spoken. She always would help when asked, and I never heard her complain. She was a totally devoted mom to Chris. When I moved here with my two kids Aunt Joyce went to school programs with me and was there if I asked sometimes even if I did not ask. Uncle Gary and Aunt Joyce of course turned my oldest into a big Gator fan. They also would take him sometimes. All I know is they gave me some of the best memories of my life. Whenever I did get to talk to Aunt Joyce she always was more worried how I felt and not herself.
