Karen Jean Kelly

Karen Jean Kelly, 81, of Leesburg, Florida (formerly of New Bedford, PA) passed away peacefully at home on March 23, 2022 after a brief battle with brain cancer. She was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania, on May 23, 1940 to the late Kenneth Gibson Harry and Martha (Bilger) Harry. A graduate of Union High School, Karen worked at First National Bank in Hermitage, Pennsylvania for 17 years before retiring. The saying that “There are no strangers here; only friends you haven’t met”, describes her friendly nature, chatty persona, and ability to bring out the fun in others. A social butterfly, she also made many neighborhood friends while bartending at VFW and the Hillside Bar in West Middlesex, Pennsylvania. She is survived by her four children, Sherry (Danny) Miller and Kimberly (Paul) Kelly of Grand Island, Florida, and Michelle and Thomas Kelly Jr. of Leesburg, Florida; 6 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; her brothers Robert (Lynn) Harry and Kenneth (Donna) Harry Jr. both of Pennsylvania. She is preceded in death by her former husband Thomas Kelly Sr. There are currently no services scheduled, but a celebration of life will be held in Leesburg and Pennsylvania at a future date.
