Doris was my “one adult that’s not your parent” a key factor in the life of a troubled young person. And troubled I was. As my music teacher and friend, she gave me advice that made the difference. And great times with Karen and Janie, telling ghost stories, playing cards, Yahtzee, at the beach.

Was blessed to share a beach trip with Doris. She cheerfully took the “crows nest” penalty room. Doris prepared her wonderful chicken and dumplings, which to this day is still prepared every beach trip since. She was a wonderful combination of stillness, peace and joy, mixed with a wicked sense of humor and fun.
“What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, For all that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” Helen Keller Doris touched the hearts of many during her life. I know because of how she touched mine. RIP, Doris and know how much your are loved and missed.
