She was a lovely woman and a very kind neighbor. We used to meet on the fence and give each other our home cooked meals. Once when my husband, Des, was out of the country and I had a nasty insect bite that my leg was swollen, she volunteered to go pick up my prescription. That's how a beautiful soul she was!

Mrs. Almand was so very nice to me whenever I saw her. I never heard say an unkind word. I marveled how she could always look so beautiful when she had such a hectic schedule taking care of her large family. She was such an inspiration to us all.
